    Frequently Asked Questions

    How do I install the panels?

    There are 3 different options for installing our panels.

    1. Gluing straight onto the wall.
      A construction glue or grab adhesive is recommended for this.
    2. Screwing directly into the wall.
      1).By using black screws for the black backing option or silver or grey screws for the grey-backed option the panels can be screwed directly into the wall through the acoustic felt.
      2).We recommend a minimum of 9 screws per panel at regular intervals across the width and 800mm down the length of the panel.
      3).If installing into ceilings then make sure they are screwed into ceiling joists.
      4).Please make sure the correct fixings are used if going into plasterboard for example.
    3. Screwing the panels into 45mm timber batons.
      1).To achieve optimum sound absorption we recommend screwing 45mm timber batons to the wall and then screwing the panels directly into the batons through the acoustic felt.
      2).If something like Rockwool is applied behind the panels and in between the batons, this will achieve Class A sound absorption.

    What do I do if I have plug sockets, windows, or other items to install around?

    Installing Acoustic Slat Wood Wall Panels around obstacles like plug sockets, windows, or other fixtures is straightforward. You can easily adjust the panels by cutting the slats widthways with a saw to fit around these objects. Additionally, the felt backing can be cut lengthways using a sharp blade to apply it neatly around any items on your wall. This allows for a clean, customized installation without compromising the panel’s acoustic or aesthetic properties.

    On which surfaces can I install the panels?

    Acoustic Slat Wood Wall Panels are highly versatile and can be mounted on a wide range of surfaces. They can be installed on:

    • Brick: Ideal for rustic or industrial-style settings.
    • Concrete: Provides a sturdy base for the panels and enhances sound quality.
    • Plasterboard: Perfect for residential or office interiors. These materials offer a strong, reliable surface for mounting the panels, ensuring a solid and effective installation.

    Do the colors look like the panels in real life?

    The wood grain is natural, so there may be knots, slight cracks, and color variations due to the natural characteristics of the material, even though the panels come from the same source.

    Are acoustic slat wood wall Panels easy to maintain?

    Yes, they are relatively easy to maintain. Simply clean the wood surface regularly (with a dry cloth) to remove dust. The panels will be absolutely fine in bathroom or kitchen as long as they are not in contact of water although we do recommend applying a water resistant finish to the front of the slats to protect them against any moisture or humidity.

    Are the acoustic wood wall panels finished?

    The acoustic panels come unfinished as it allows you to finish it any way you choose. We recommend adding a finish, whether it's an oil, wax, lacquer, or varnish, to protect the wood, and while doing so, it also enhances the grain and colors of the wood.
