Reviews
A great fan with a very bright light. Easy install.
I am very pleased with my Icebreaker ceiling fan. It is super quiet, extremely cooling, even on the lowest of settings, and the fully adjustable LED light is very bright at maximum. My one input, that would make it perfect, would be a more diffused (wide) light. The current light is more of a spotlight. It would also be great if a white center cap was available instead of the black color one.
Installed these in multiple bedrooms and the difference is night and day. My old fan had to be cranked to its highest setting just to feel a whisper of air — and it sounded like a helicopter doing it. The Icebreaker moves serious air on low settings and does it whisper quiet. For a bedroom fan that's everything. The LED light is incredibly bright — like, surprisingly bright — and the design is clean and modern. It's also noticeably lighter than what it replaced which makes installation easier. Now the honest part: the installation instructions are rough. I had to go down a YouTube rabbit hole just to figure out how to thread the light cord through the mounting unit — and even the video was wrong. Had to disassemble the electrical connector just to fit the wire through the hole, then reassemble it. Not fun. SMAFan.com, your fans deserve better instructions. The other gripe is the smart app doesn't maintain your brightness settings when you use the wall switch. I like the lights at full brightness but every time I flip the switch I have to hunt down my phone, open the app, and reset it. For those of us who don't carry our phones room to room at home, that gets old fast. Four stars because the fan does its core job exceptionally well — it moves air quietly and efficiently, which at the end of the day is exactly what you're buying it for. Fix the instructions and the app settings memory and this is an easy five.
The fan is excellent and it has wifi integration. It has convenient features like app based setup, remote, timer, multiple lighting. It also has Alexa integration and it is very useful feature for me.
The product was packaged well and the instructions were clear and thorough. Installation was straight forward and the fans (I installed 2 in the same room) sync'd up to the remote control on the first try. They are both very quiet and attractive. The light module offers 3 temperature ranges and full dimming. I am very pleased with my purchase.
The ice breaker fan is excellent, simple installation and setup, had a few issues connecting to the app but that was related to a failed pcb that customer service promptly sent replacements for. After the pcb was replaced, the fan and features are really nice. The two color LED ring is very bright, 10 speed adjustable and can be done all remotely in app or on the remote. Very easy to use and setup
The Icebreaker 60 inch moves a lot of air and has the smart home integration features I was looking for, close to the price of similar models without smart features at big box stores. We had a little bit of an issue getting the electrical connector through the downshaft, but we figured it out after a few minutes. It was just a tight fit. Other than that, it went smoothly.
Good outdoor fan that’s easy to operate
This is fan is a great smart fan. I can access it on my phone and I have put it on schedule so even if I forget to switch it off, it does it on its own. Another great feature I like about the fan is the summer and winter airflow rotation which gives perfect airflow for the required season.
We did A LOT of research and chose this fan because it is a "smart" fan and so easy to just say "hey Google. turn the fan to a slower speed," or Hey Google, turn off the fan light." And, we really like that it has a separate yellow and white light - most fans are just yellow and they aren't bright enough. And, it's quiet!! And, the price is very competitive. All around - a great fan. In fact, this is our second SmaFan and we would buy another! Highly recommend.
Moves alot of air. Adjustable brightness love it on my screened in porch.
I have 2 outside and they light up my whole yard.
I've had this fan for 3 weeks now and from my short experience, I give this fan a 5 out of 5. The light can go from dim to bright, white to warm. The fan can be controlled from a remote, or by the phone. Really satisfied as of now and it's a modern, nice-looking fan.
I was so impressed that I bought 3 for my outdoor area.
Easy to install balanced out of the box quiet bright and smart and beautiful everything I was looking for in a ceiling fan! And I got them at a great price especially when you look at the price!
easy install as a replacement ceiling fan
I didn't know anything about this company but I found them in my search to replace my 2 old ceiling fans from early 2000s. Most fans I came across were either ugly or very expensive, but Smafan had a lot of nice designs and the price was right. I ended up with a single Icebreaker Outdoor 60'' Smart Ceiling Fan with LED Light Kit. I needed an electrician to install with scaffolding but I've seen the instructions and it's pretty easy DIY if you can reach your ceiling and have 1 person to help. The fan operates very quiet even on max speed and moves a lot of air and the light is both dimmable and color temperature adjustable among some other nice features. The only tricky part was connecting to the app, it requires you to switch your phone's wifi connection to 2.5G then pair, then you can switch back to whatever network you use. I've never used another smart device that requires that so it's a bit strange, but if you follow the instructions it's clear. Also there is no beeping sound to notify you it is in pairing mode as written in the instructions, only a red light (maybe my model does not have?). This connected to my Google Home Assistant with no issues. Anyways I'm not going to remove a star for the app pairing as it did not affect my satisfaction with the product, but if there were something improve about this product I would look at that. I am considering buying a few pendant lights they offer as well.
Beautiful fan with a great feature set.
Awesome fan… works with my Alexa app and makes my life so much easier and cooler!
Great fan with light. I am putting up for my finished patio.
Great fan with great functions that other fans don't have. Love it
Great fan with great functions that other fans don't have. Love it
Love this fan. Fairly easy install but couldn’t find any support instructions online.
Haven't yet installed this product although il have bought 5 of them thus far for our new home. The options vs price are unmatched to others of its size. I'm giving it 4 stars only due to not yet being installed.
This fan works great. Wifi features work great. I use it with google, no problems. App is good so far. No complaints.
This product works as expected and the customer server was great.
